Oil, Diffusion Pump

Single stage oil diffusion pump useful with manifolds such as AF-0450 through AF-0454. Will provide vacuum of 10 -5 torr, at a pumping rate of approx 8L/sec. Instead of the typical internal heating coil, boiler has a round bottom for use with CG-10000-02 or CG-12000-02 100mL heating mantle. Use of the mantle eliminates costly repairs of boiler due to breakage. Supplied complete with a bypass which isolates the oil diffusion pump from the mechanical pump while it rough pumps the system. This prevents the hot pumping fluid from being degraded by chemical oxidative process. All valves are 0-12mm Chem-Vac™ Chem-Cap®. Tubular connections are 1" OD for use with AF-0066 1" Cajon® connectors, or 1" ID heavy wall vacuum tubing.

PLEASE NOTE: HEATING MANTLE MUST BE ORDERED SEPARATELY.

Pump is available in both right and left handed configurations. A left handed pump is pictured.

Operation: In the bypass mode, valves A and B are closed isolating the diffusion pump from the system while valve C is open. Once the system has reached 1 x 10-5 Torr, valve C is closed and A and B are opened, restoring the diffusion pump to the pumping circuit. Pump oil listed is Dow Corning #704.

PLEASE NOTE: WHEN ORDERING THE DIFFUSION PUMP TO MATE WITH THE AF-0450 MANIFOLD, PLEASE USE THE SAME CODE FOR BOTH ITEMS. FOR EXAMPLE: AF-0460-01 LEFT HANDED DIFFUSION PUMP SHOULD BE ORDERED WITH AF-0450-01 RIGHT HANDED MANIFOLD.
