Overview The dye Carminic acid (C.I. 75470) is used to prepare dye-solutions. Together with a mordant solution of lithium, aluminium or boron it is used as a lake for staining. Carminic acid is applied for various stainings, e.g. for the detection of glycogen and mucous substances (Best's carmine), for nucelar staining or for vital staining. CE-certified, IVD product.
